A boy from the remote village of district Mandi of Himachal Pradesh in 1982 after the completion of his matriculation,was keen to work so that he could help his family. He spent years, tried various fields and skills to find his passion and career stream. He went to goa and worked as sales rep. It was far from home. Then he went to the holy city Amritsar and started learning the required skills in printing press. Assassination of the prime minister Indira Gandhi in 1984 implied curfew and this boy too lost his job.

In 1985, he arrived to Manali, worked at grocery store. From his first salary he brought a bicycle. In part-time he was also working as sales rep and porter. But his thrust to do something big kept increasing. He run a tea stall in 1986 till 1992. Meanwhile he got married to Mrs. Meena Kumari in 1991. In 1992 with the hope of achieving big by serving the taste of the people, this grown up man , with his wife took two rooms and a shop on rent at Bahang near Manali. This man is Mr. Bhim Sen Rana who established Rana Bakery as a dream, career and passion. Both Mr. And Mrs. Rana worked strenuously to learn the basic skills themselves . They were working well, Rana bakery was just blooming but,one night in August 1995 ruined the established factory. It was a sudden devastating flood in the river Beas. Nothing except the clothes on the body was left in Rana's family. Not only Rana Bakery but Bahang, Manali or more accurately whole upper and snawer valley was hit worse. It was an unprecedented jolt.

Rana's family had to move back to the village. It was the most arduous time. He tried a failure to open a bakery at village. Taking risk he with his spouse, again came back to Bahang and started with new zeal and again established his Rana Bakery in 1997. They shifted to Tibetan colony in 1999 and tried to serve the people of Manali. Mr. BS Rana hold the charge of baking and supplies while Mrs. Rana took the charge of a shop and home. Forgetting the past and keeping the vision to excel in life this couple spent 15 years there and then shifted again to their permanent residence at Bahang in 2014. Since then Rana bakery is serving and excelling. Even today Mr. And Mrs. Rana are working in the same way as it was in 1992.
